On the 9th of December –

French feminist newspaper La Fronde was founded; Narutowics was appointed first president of Poland; Russian anarchist Kropotkin was born.

Marguerite Durand founded the feminist newspaper La Fronde in Paris in 1897. It reached a peak publication of 50.000 (!), but was forced to close down for financial reasons in 1905.

Gabriel Narutowicz was appointed the first president of Poland in 1922. He was assassinated 7 days later, on the 16th…

Peter Kropotkin (Пётр Алексеевич Кропоткин), Russian anarchist, was born in Moscow. After a long exile in France, Switzerland and England, he returned to support the Kerensky government, and was forced to relinquish political activity after the Bolshevik revolution. He died in 1921. His funeral was he last big anarchist gathering after the revolution, until 1987.
