In 1942 Henry Ford patented the plastic automobile, 30% lighter than a metal one.. Not a lot of them were manufactured though – except in East Germany, where the Trabant gains massive popularity and is now rediscovered as an icon of ‘Ostalgie‘.

In 1968 Johnny Cash performs live at Folsom Prison. What a voice.
