Monopoly, Maastricht Treaty, William Boyce

On the 7th of February –

The board game Monopoly is invented in 1935. The playing board for it has become a classic, if not iconic image, used in many other contexts, regional versions etc.:

The Maastricht Treaty, forming the European Union as we now know and love it, is signed in Maastricht in 1991. Here is an interview with Mitterand on the subject:

English composer William Boyce dies in 1779, he was born in 1701. Here is a fragment of his 1st Symphony:
