Elgar, Mozart, Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, Tsintsadze

on the 19th of March –

I am still thinking of the wonderful concert I heard yesterday evening, by amateur string orchestra De Haagse Beek. But what is an amateur, other than ‘someone who loves what they are doing’?

That could clearly be heard in this concert, with pieces by Elgar, Mozart, Mendelssohn-Bartholdy and the Georgian composer Tsintsadze. Difficult stuff, not helped very much by a very dry acoustic in the hall they were playing, and yet a sparkling performance. Great fun!

Bildnis Edward Elgar (1857 - 1934)

Leopold & Wolfgang Mozart
Concerto for Horn & Orchestra in E-flat Major, K.417: Allegro

Bildnis Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy (1809 - 1847)
