Beethoven’s Ninth

On the 7th of May –
In 1814 Beethoven’s  Ninth Symphony premieres in Vienna, by conductor Michael Umlauf, in close cooperation with the composer.
The Ode to Joy, which its the final movement if this symphony, is the unofficial European anthem.
So in Europeana we love it… I’ve actually created a playlist on Spotify with various renditions of the Ode to Joy. I’ll try to share that somewhere, some of these are hilarious.

Symphonie Nr.9 in D-Moll, Op.125 4.Satz - Presto-Allegro ma non troppo-Allegro assai
Symphony No.9 In D Minor 'Choral': 4Th Mvt.

One of my favourites: the rendition by the Red Army Choir:
Hymne A La Joie (Extrait De La 9e Symphonie - Beethoven)
